Job summary

Water Grill Santa Monica is seeking a Back of House Supervisor to support the management team in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment. You will oversee receiving, prep, and daily operations, ensuring recipe integrity and guest satisfaction, while coaching a skilled culinary team through shift execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• High school graduate, some college
• Any previous supervisor experience
• 2 years' experience in a kitchen/cook role
• Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Basic mathematical calculations
• Knowledge of menu, prices and quality standards
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
• Team-oriented approach to service

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily receiving, storage, and preparation of all food products.
• Records all waste on tracking sheet.
• Nightly protein count.
• Assists KM/EKM in counting weekly inventory.
• Ensures food meets recipe specs and quality.
• Maintains timing standards during production.
• Inspects and approves dishes before serving.
• Ensures health and safety compliance, temperatures and sanitation.
• Cooks when needed to support workflow.
• Escalates business decisions to Manager on duty.
• Completes opening/closing duties as assigned.
• Follows maintenance and cleaning schedule.
• Notifies management of shift-related information.
