Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer (Azure) to architect and build cloud-native, API-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will own the API lifecycle, implement security with Azure AD, and develop in Java/Spring + GraphQL. This remote US role offers modern CI/CD practices and collaboration with Agile teams.

Applicants should have deep Azure experience, API design, and database knowledge, with a commitment to secure, scalable integration across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience architecting and developing on Microsoft Azure (Azure Functions, Data Factory, Storage).
• Strong API lifecycle management with Azure API Management (REST/OpenAPI, versioning, security, analytics, monitoring).
• Proven API security experience with Azure AD, plus custom security policies and mTLS.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot for API development, and GraphQL API development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL/Oracle/MongoDB) and CI/CD tooling (Git, GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop Azure-based data movement and orchestration solutions.
• Own API lifecycle using Azure API Management (design, versioning, security, analytics, monitoring).
• Implement API security with Azure AD, plus custom security policies, mTLS, and throttling.
• Develop APIs using GraphQL, Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with Git and GitHub Actions in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams.
