Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer (Azure) to architect and build cloud-native, API-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure, enabling secure data movement across enterprise systems. You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and agile teams.

The role is remote in the United States. You will own API lifecycle via Azure API Management, implement security with Azure AD, develop with Java/Spring, and contribute to CI/CD with Git/GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience architecting and developing solutions on Microsoft Azure using Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related services.
• Strong API lifecycle management experience with Azure API Management, including API design, versioning, security, analytics, monitoring, and deprecation.
• Proven API security experience with Azure Active Directory, plus custom API security policies, mTLS, and API throttling.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot for API development, along with GraphQL API development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL/Oracle/MongoDB), PL/SQL, CI/CD tooling (Git, GitHub Actions), and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop cloud-native, API-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Own the full API lifecycle using Azure API Management, including design, security, analytics, and deprecation.
• Implement API security with Azure AD, including policies, mTLS, and throttling.
• Develop APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and GraphQL.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitHub Actions within Agile/Scrum teams.
