Job summary

System One is seeking a Junior AWS Production Support Engineer to provide Level 1/2 support for AWS-hosted applications across multiple sites. You will monitor, investigate, and resolve incidents using AWS Console, CloudWatch, Splunk, and logs, and escalate complex issues to senior teams.

You will write Python scripts to automate tasks and assist with releases in GitLab CI/CD. The role emphasizes on-call coverage, documenting investigations, and maintaining clear incident records in ServiceNow

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands on AWS experience.
• Python scripting experience to automate basic operational tasks.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Production/support experience incl. troubleshooting and log analysis.
• Basic Linux command line troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerts, logs, and production support processes.
• Understanding CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Ability to investigate alerts, failed jobs, deployments, and AWS issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 production support for AWS hosted applications.
• Monitor applications, respond to alerts, incidents, failed jobs, and operational issues.
• Use AWS Console, CloudWatch, Splunk, and Linux logs to investigate production issues.
• Troubleshoot and escalate complex problems to engineering or Level 3 teams.
• Use SQL to support queries and operational troubleshooting.
• Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive production tasks.
• Assist with application releases and investigate failures in GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest automation or process improvements.
• Document investigation results and maintain incident records in ServiceNow and Jira.
• Participate in on-call coverage and support planned releases and after-hours incidents.
