Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Sterling, VA is seeking a Data Center Technician to support 24/7 operations.

You will perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix, and network troubleshooting, and you will participate in on-call rotations to maintain service availability. You’ll work with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts to uphold safety standards while delivering scalable infrastructure at the lowest possible cost for customers.

Qualifications

1+ years of computer networking experience.
1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience in computer networking and Linux systems.
Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
Experience with cabling infrastructure and data center environments.
Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and working under pressure.

Responsibilities

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix, troubleshooting network issues, and contributing to service availability.
Serving as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders.
On-call duties and planned maintenance/change management participation.
Contributing to documentation and process improvements based on issues analyzed.
Assisting with interviewing, training and onboarding new team members.
