Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a hands-on data center technician to support critical AWS infrastructure. You will troubleshoot server hardware, diagnose network issues, and respond to on-call incidents to ensure service availability.

The role requires travel between data center sites, coverage of flexible shifts, and collaboration with engineers, vendors, and contractors to maintain smooth operations. Training and onboarding of new teammates are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience or IT experience.
• 2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking experience including troubleshooting and repair.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations and hardware break-fix; troubleshoot network issues; respond to operational incidents to maintain service availability.
• Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
• On-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvements based on analysis of operational issues.
• Assist with interviewing, training and onboarding new team members.
