Austin Commercial seeks a Project Director for our Aviation Division to direct day-to-day field operations on large, complex projects. You will lead project teams, influence safety, scheduling, and cost control, and participate in business development.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or relevant discipline strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of aviation construction experience with proven leadership in large-scale airport projects.
• Expertise in terminal and concourse development, including passenger flow optimization.
• Knowledge of processor (headhouse) structures for seamless airport operations.
• Experience with ConRAC development and transportation logistics.
• Deep understanding of landside and airside construction, including regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Willingness to travel or relocate as required for project execution.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the sr. project manager on a large, complex project and may also have operational oversight for other assigned projects.
• Reviews jobsite progress at regular intervals and attends meetings with the project team.
• Establishes safety requirements and inspections; uses safety programs and reviews accident reports.
• Assists in startup activities for power, utilities, and site setup.
• Leads hoisting equipment decisions including cranes and related assets.
• Reviews detailed planning and scheduling for project phases and checks progress against schedules.
• Inspects project quality and provides technical guidance to the team.
• Reviews buyouts and expedites material deliveries to maintain schedule.
• Reviews change orders and secures owner approvals; manages cost impacts.
• Maintains liaison with officers/directors and pursues new work opportunities.
• Leads business development and engages stakeholders including government agencies and airlines.
• Reviews final cost estimates before proposals and supports contract language when appropriate.
• Collaborates with Risk Management to ensure insurance compliance.
• Contributes to strategic planning and long-term company objectives.
• Mentors project personnel and promotes career development.
