Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Aviation Division to lead major aviation construction projects. You will coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors while maintaining safety, schedule, and budget performance on complex programs.

The ideal candidate has a BS in construction management or related field, 10+ years of PM experience, OSHA 30, and a proven record of leading high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (may obtain within first year).
• Proficient in project manager software.
• Proficient with cost projection, scheduling, financial analysis, budget reviews and labor reports.
• Ability to build and manage multiple high performing teams.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Austin Commercial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Responsibilities

• Oversees a major construction project by planning, scheduling and coordinating all phases of the project.
• Organizes and manages a large project staff where the duties of project managers and superintendents are divided among employee-owners.
• When a project is handled through a preconstruction agreement, works with owners and architects during plan development, providing technical and cost input and preliminary budget estimates.
• Assumes overall responsibility for startup activities on the project; coordinates with the superintendent on site logistics and deliveries.
• Reviews subcontractor bids, ensures bonds and insurance are in place, and resolves contract interpretation issues.
• Ensures contract terms and specifications are met; inspects work to maintain quality standards and documents issues for future reference.
• Prepares and submits monthly pay requests; addresses payment delays to expedite processes.
• Develops master construction schedule with Scheduling department and updates CPM schedule based on changes and performance.
• Distributes proposed changes for pricing, evaluates schedule impact, and secures owner approvals in writing before starting work.
• Works with safety, compliance and risk management to ensure adherence to laws and company policies.
• Performs closeout documentation, final reports, and final payments; coordinates with subcontractors and vendors to close out projects.
