Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Aviation Division. This leadership role requires guiding a complex construction program from planning through turnover, coordinating owner-architect input, budgets, and schedules with a large project team of owner-owners and superintendents.

You will drive cost control, subcontractor management, and safety compliance while delivering on schedule and quality commitments for a landmark aviation project.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training completed (may obtain within first year).
• Proficient in project management software and cost projection/scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a major construction project by planning, scheduling and coordinating all phases of the project.
• Organizes and manages a large project staff of owner-owners and superintendents.
• Provide input during plan development and budgeting; work with Estimating on bids and final cost estimates.
• Lead startup activities, coordinate with superintendent on site logistics and deliveries.
• Review subcontractor bids, ensure bonds/insurance, and manage contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety/quality standards; document issues.
• Approve subcontractor work, manage invoices and retainage, and monitor payments.
• Maintain a cost accounting system and monthly job status reports; analyze variances.
• Prepare monthly pay requests and address any payment delays.
• Develop and update the master CPM schedule with Scheduling department.
• Manage scope changes, pricing, and approvals with owners and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies; promote safety and training.
• Contribute to closeout documentation and final project records.
