Austin Commercial, part of Austin Industries, seeks a Project Director for the Aviation Division to lead day-to-day field operations on complex airport projects in Austin. This role directs safety, scheduling, planning, and quality while guiding subcontractors and stakeholders.

The candidate will drive business development, manage costs, and ensure risk controls. Strong leadership, communication, and travel readiness are essential for success in this high-profile role.

Qualifications

• BS in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of aviation construction experience with leadership on large projects.
• Expertise in terminal/concourse development and passenger flow optimization.
• Knowledge of headhouse structures for airport operations.
• Experience with ConRAC development and transportation logistics.
• Deep landside/airside construction understanding and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead negotiations, remain professional in complex scenarios.
• Willingness to travel or relocate for project execution.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior project manager on a large, complex aviation project.
• Oversee safety, scheduling, quality, and subcontractor performance on site.
• Lead cost reviews, procurement, and change order processes with owner approvals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to secure new work.
• Support business development and strategic planning activities.
• Mentor and develop project personnel across multiple sites.
• Ensure compliance with insurance and risk management requirements.
• Drive collaboration to build high-performing teams and future leaders.
• Assist in early buyouts and cost control to keep projects on track.
