Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company is seeking a Traveling Aviation Superintendent 2 to lead safety culture, manage subcontractors and coordinate complex aviation projects across the United States. The role requires extensive travel and close collaboration with owners, design teams and field staff.

The position emphasizes planning, scheduling and cost control, with opportunities for career progression within the Superintendent family. Strong communication and Lean practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred).
• 5+ years construction experience.
• 3+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience with Lean principles (Preferred).
• Experience working on Aviation type projects (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of safety culture and fosters an injury-free environment.
• Manages subcontractors and overall job workflow.
• Oversees staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs (Safety, Quality, EEO).
• Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinates care, custody and control of the project site.
• Leads daily standup and weekly trade meetings.
• Attends progress/OAC meetings and manages project schedule with PM.
• Tracks budget and cost reports; handles cost codes.
• Communicates project information to owners, design team, and contractors.
• Maintains project filing and documentation; updates logs and diaries.
• Prepares and presents for project reviews; handles change negotiations.
• Partners to staff projects and identify schedule/cost impacts of changes.
