Job summary

Encore Global in Reno, NV is seeking a Technician to set up and operate basic audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment, ensuring complete customer satisfaction. The role reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

This role supports events in hotel/convention center settings, handling setup, operation, teardown, and client coordination while maintaining professional communication and ensuring equipment functions properly across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
• A valid driver’s license required for team members that may operate Company vehicles.
• Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic AV equipment.
• Exceeds the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
• Maintains a positive relationship with clients through effective communication.
• Meets with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and the equipment works properly.
• Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
• Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
• Understands the technical aspects of the job and troubleshoots equipment and software issues.
• Handles equipment challenges in a timely and professional manner.
• Completes order entries in Navigator and interacts with staff and vendors for equipment.
• Increases revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques and finalizing invoices.
