Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking an experienced technical operator to lead live testing, deployment, and validation of autonomous technologies at the intersection of engineering and operations. You will guide testing across transport, deployment, and safety validation and mentor junior team members.

You will develop testing processes, analyze logs, and generate actionable feedback to improve safety, reliability, and product quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle, robotics, or complex systems testing within a live operational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound technical judgment and troubleshoot complex system behaviors.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams to investigate issues and influence product improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and presenting recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee live testing across transport, deployment, and safety validation.
• Partner with hardware, software, and business operations teams; mentor junior team members.
• Conduct and document complex tests for autonomous technologies; provide actionable feedback to engineering teams.
• Exercise technical judgment during live testing to assess risk and determine escalation needs.
• Develop and implement testing processes, protocols, and checklists to improve safety and reliability.
• Utilize internal tools to analyze logs, investigate issues, document findings, and track resolution; mentor juniors in debugging and documentation.
• Conduct detailed analyses and generate reports identifying trends; provide strategic recommendations to engineering and operations partners.
