Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a seasoned technical operator to lead live testing, deployment, and operational validation of autonomous technologies. You will work at the intersection of engineering and operations to ensure safe deployment, thorough evaluation, and actionable feedback.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and business teams, develop testing protocols, and mentor junior members while driving operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle, robotics, or complex systems testing in live operations.
• Ability to exercise sound technical judgment, troubleshoot complex system behaviors, and decide on escalations.
• Experience partnering with engineering to investigate issues and influence product improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee live testing across transport, deployment, and safety validation.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and business operations teams to validate new capabilities and mentor juniors.
• Document complex tests, evaluate robot behavior, identify issues, and provide actionable feedback to engineering.
• Use judgment to assess risk, distinguish expected behavior from defects, and decide on escalation.
• Develop and implement testing processes, protocols, and checklists for safety and reliability.
• Analyze logs with internal tools, document findings, and track issues through resolution.
