Job summary

DoorDash Labs in Oakland is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to verify and validate the system requirements for Dot, our next-generation autonomous delivery robot. You will develop and execute test campaigns to ensure our delivery hardware meets performance, safety, and regulatory goals.

You will join our V&V team in Oakland with occasional travel to test sites in California, Arizona, and Michigan.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in automotive or mechatronics testing at the system level.
• Hands-on experience with CAN bus & Ethernet data logging and analysis tools.
• Experience with environmental testing such as thermal, shock, and IP testing.
• Track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects and programs.

Responsibilities

• Validate our next-generation robot delivery hardware.
• Develop and execute robot system tests with requirement owners.
• Validate electrical, mechanical, thermal, safety, and sensing performance across environments.
• Improve robot reliability through rigorous testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Software, Firmware, Controls, AI and Ops to plan, track, and resolve issues.
• Construct and maintain test tooling, fixtures and documentation.
• Lead test reviews and report progress of test programs.
