Textron Systems Sea Systems Internship in Hunt Valley, MD offers hands‑on experience in autonomous surface vehicle technologies, including control, payload integration, and sensing. You will design, simulate, test, and field‑test subsystems as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes mentorship, real project impact, and opportunities to contribute to engineering documentation and integration efforts supporting national defense programs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor or master in electrical/electro‑mechanical engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare design docs.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products; Visio considered a plus.
• Wired Ethernet and network configuration experience is a plus.
• Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.
• Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
• Contribute to concept development with cross‑functional design teams, including prototyping.
• Prepare high‑quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and design presentations.
• Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via ECNs/ECPs.
