Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an intern to join our Sea Systems team in Hunt Valley, MD to support unmanned surface vehicles. You will perform conceptual and detailed electrical design, analysis, integration, and field testing under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This entry‑level role offers hands‑on project experience, mentorship, and development opportunities, with exposure to autonomous control, payload integration, and communications systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical/electro‑mechanical engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication for design documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Wired Ethernet and network configuration experience is a plus.
• Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles.
• Perform analysis, integration, and testing.
• Contribute to concept development with internal cross‑functional teams, including prototyping and production support.
• Prepare high‑quality engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design proposals.
• Prepare and/or manage design change documentation via Engineering Change Notices/Proposals.
