Textron Systems in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer (Sea Systems). You’ll contribute to real projects from day one, work with a multidisciplinary team, and receive mentorship to grow your technical skills across the product lifecycle.

The role involves developing software for surface vehicle products, including embedded components and sensor/operator interfaces, and requires pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS with proficiency in C/C++, C#,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/computer engineering/CIS/MIS or related field
• C/C++, C#, Python, and/or Java programming
• Basic shell scripting experience
• Ability to work 40 hours/week (with every other Friday off!)
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Traveling up to 20% of the time

Responsibilities

• Developing software solutions for current and next-gen Surface Vehicle products.
• Developing new software across lifecycle from concept to lab and field testing.
• Building software at component, subsystem, and system levels, including embedded controls and sensors.
• Collaborating on a cross-functional team with advanced technologies.
• Providing offsite integration and test support.
• Other duties as assigned.
