Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to maintain and support autonomous 930E haul trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, assist in autonomous conversions, and help ensure safe, efficient mining operations on site.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in heavy equipment maintenance, a related technical degree or certification, and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment maintenance or mining experience.
Technical certification or an associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on heavy machinery.
Ability to read schematics, manuals and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting skills with systematic diagnostic methods.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks in autonomous settings.
Assist with conversion and commissioning of trucks to autonomous operation; diagnose onboard systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance checks and repairs on suspension, brakes, hoist, and steering.
Support autonomous system functions including vehicle escort, restarts, and obstacle management.
Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols for exceptions.
Communicate with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff regularly.
Engage in structured training to progress toward Tier 1 certification in autonomous systems.
Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines on site.
