Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of our Autonomous Haulage System on Komatsu 930E trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, assist with autonomous system conversions, and collaborate with senior technicians to uphold safety and productivity in rugged mining environments.

This onsite role requires a proactive mindset, strong diagnostic skills, and comfort working rotating shifts outdoors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Basic knowledge of diesel systems and schematics.
• MSHA certification is mandatory; forklift/manlift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks to ensure safe, reliable autonomous operation.
• Support conversion of trucks to autonomous mode, including commissioning and diagnostics of onboard systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on suspensions, brakes, hoists and steering systems to maintain safety standards.
• Assist with Autonomous Haulage System functions including vehicle escort, system restarts, and handling obstacles for smooth operation.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols for complex issues.
• Communicate effectively with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff to ensure readiness and rapid response.
• Participate in structured training modules to progress toward Tier 1 certification in autonomous systems.
