Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of our autonomous mining tech on Komatsu 930E trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, assist with conversions, and contribute to safety and productivity on rugged mining sites.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in heavy equipment or mining, a technical degree or certification in Diesel/Mechatronics, and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using diagnostic methods and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks for autonomous operation.
• Assist with conversion and commissioning of trucks to autonomous mode and diagnose onboard systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance checks on suspension, brakes, hoist, and steering components.
• Support autonomous haulage functions including vehicle escort and system restarts.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 technicians and site personnel to ensure readiness and safety.
• Engage in training to progress toward Tier 1 certification in autonomous systems.
