Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of our autonomous 930E haul trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance and assist with system conversions on site.

You will collaborate with Tier 1 technicians, follow strict safety protocols, and participate in structured training to advance toward Tier 1 certification within Komatsu's autonomous systems pathway.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Preferred technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on heavy machinery; able to read schematics and manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using systematic diagnostic methods.
• Comfortable with rotating shifts and outdoor mining environments.
• Excellent communication to work with teams and supervisors.
• Commitment to continuous learning in autonomous mining technology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks for autonomous operation.
• Support conversion processes to autonomous operation, including commissioning and diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance on suspension, braking, hoist, and steering systems to uphold safety.
• Assist with Autonomous Haulage System functions including vehicle escort, system restarts, and obstacle management.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols for complex issues.
• Communicate with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff to ensure readiness and responsiveness.
• Engage in training modules to progress toward Tier 1 certification in Komatsu's autonomous systems path.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and environmental policies on site.
