Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of autonomous mining technology on Komatsu 930E trucks. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, assist with autonomous conversions, and contribute to safe, efficient mining operations.

Ideal candidates will build expertise through Komatsu training, collaborate with senior technicians, and thrive in rugged outdoor environments with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
• Preferred technical certification or associate degree in Diesel Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems as applied to heavy machinery, including ability to interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues using systematic diagnostic methods.
• Comfortable working in rotational shift patterns and outdoor conditions typical of mining sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks to ensure top-performing operation.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 technicians during the conversion to autonomous operation and perform commissioning and diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on suspension, braking, hoist, and steering components to meet safety and operational standards.
• Assist with Autonomous Haulage System functions including vehicle escort duties, restarts, and issue management.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation procedures for complex issues.
