Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is hiring for a customer-focused team member to assist day-to-day service desk and sales floor activities. The role emphasizes customer engagement, product knowledge, and timely follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle readiness.

Responsibilities include handling calls and in-store inquiries, processing transactions, and performing basic automotive services while adhering to safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge of mathematical concepts and ability to apply them to commissions and discounts.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store; engage customers, schedule appointments, and sell parts and services.
• Organize and manage service and register transactions; maintain shop cleanliness and inventory knowledge.
• Assist management with customer care, work orders, and store operations.
• Follow policies for cash handling, refunds, and returns; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Perform routine express automotive services including oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain a safe work environment.
