Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Illinois is seeking an Industrial Automation Technician to install, configure and troubleshoot control systems on 2nd or 3rd shift, with overtime and benefits. The role involves working with PLCs, servo drives, and HMI interfaces in a manufacturing setting.

You will diagnose and repair components such as sensors, encoders, laser guided vehicles, conveyors, and power distribution, following safety procedures and lockout/tagout. Relocation assistance is offered.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with PLCs, servo systems required.
Experience with packaging equipment manufacturing environment preferred.
Thorough understanding of safety procedures (lockout/tagout, etc.) preferred.
Proficient with electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and control wiring.
Troubleshoot analog and digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
Maintain encoders and load cells and other feedback devices.
Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces.
Modify PLC logic and ladder logic; diagnose HMI and network integration.
Troubleshoot communication protocols including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet.
Diagnose electrical issues using schematics; perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and production equipment.
