Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Elgin, IL, is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, and program PLCs and HMIs. Responsibilities include wiring, servo systems, encoders, and load cells, with a focus on packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting.

Work includes 3rd shift, overtime, and strict safety practices. The role requires PLC and servo experience, reading schematics, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with PLCs and servo systems.
• Experience with maintenance on packaging equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O and control wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog/digital controls with 480V 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives.
• Maintain encoders and load cells; service production equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Modify PLC logic using ladder logic as needed.
• Diagnose HMI/graphic interfaces and protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Consult electrical schematics to diagnose equipment issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and related production equipment.
