Electrical Automation Services in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a hands-on Automation Technician to install, configure, and troubleshoot control systems on 2nd or 3rd shift. You will work with PLCs, servo drives, encoders, and HMI interfaces while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs and servo systems required.
• Familiarity reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting packaging equipment is preferred.
• Strong safety awareness including lockout/tagout practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O and control wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog/digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Modify PLC control logic using ladder logic.
• Troubleshoot HMI graphical interfaces and communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Diagnose equipment using electrical schematics and perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and production equipment.
