Job summary

Stantec in the United States is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. You will grow foundations in consulting-based automation and control system design while supporting multidisciplinary projects across North America.

The role offers opportunities to lead and support projects in mining, power generation, oil & gas, renewable energy, and energy transition, with potential to mentor others, and travel about 10% to client sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design and start-up.
• Site work including investigations, scope validation, construction and commissioning.
• Lead the design and development of I&C construction drawing deliverables and specifications; support procurement.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with third-party systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
