Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to support advanced automation systems for one of the world’s largest online retailers.

You will apply controls knowledge to improve maintenance strategies, diagnose issues, and optimize performance of conveyors, sortation systems, PLCs, scanners, vision systems, print‑and‑apply equipment, and SCADA platforms. You’ll troubleshoot software, supervise contractors, and communicate with leadership and site teams to ensure uptime, safety, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
2+ years of experience with PLC programming, robotics components, and SCADA-based monitoring.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Promote safe operations and regulatory compliance for system activities.
Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
Escalate and respond to on-site and remote issues, including after hours.
Inspect systems to ensure performance aligns with design and client requirements.
Oversee external contractors for specialized system work and maintenance.
Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
Monitor industrial networks and motor control systems for performance.
Communicate with leaders and operations teams on timelines and impacts.
Analyze failures and recommend improvements or retraining.
