Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer to support advanced automation systems in high-uptime facilities. You’ll optimize maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and improve conveyors, PLCs, scanners, vision systems, and SCADA platforms to boost reliability and safety.

You’ll lead troubleshooting, collaborate with operations, and implement improvements across critical equipment. This role requires hands-on problem solving and strong technical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification and programming.
• 2+ years of PLC programming, robotics components, controls, and SCADA monitoring.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work shifts, including nights or weekends.
• Ability to solve problems independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
• Support and diagnose MHE control systems and RSLogix 5000 software.
• Collaborate with site team to resolve electrical problems affecting performance.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
• Monitor industrial networks and oversee contractor work on specialized systems.
• Communicate issues, timelines, and impacts to leadership and operations.
