Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and improve operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will lead proactive controls automation, troubleshoot complex systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize MHE systems using state-of-the-art conveyors, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices.
You will work with cross-functional teams, implementing innovative projects that directly impact order speed and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/automation or 2+ years of PLC automation experience
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
- Experience with ladder logic and Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys PLCs
- Experience with robotics work cells and control systems
Responsibilities
- Maintain automation systems critical for operations
- Troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus)
- Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance/operations
- Provide first-level escalation support to site technicians
- Perform building System Assessments to enhance material handling performance
