Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and performance in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot PLCs, optimize MHE control systems, and drive continuous improvement projects using state-of-the-art conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance automation systems, provide first‑level escalation support, and monitor metrics to ensure Amazon’s speed and accuracy in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/Automation or 2+ years PLC/automation experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
• Experience with Ladder Logic on Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys PLCs.
• Experience in process or production environment PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis.
• Experience with robotics work cells and control systems.
• Experience with electrical theory and automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical for operations.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance to address performance issues.
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, locally and remotely.
• Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling performance.
