Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers, troubleshooting complex control systems and driving continuous improvement across MHE.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, work with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices, and provide proactive technical support to site technicians locally and remotely, ensuring fast, accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, EE, automation, or related field.
2+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.
2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.

Responsibilities

Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems critical to operations.
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians locally and remotely.
Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling performance.
