Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize reliability of MHE systems across fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot PLC-based controls, improve performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams using state-of-the-art conveyors, scanners, and SCADA.

You will serve as site expert for automation, support maintenance, monitor metrics, and provide escalation support to technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, automation, or equivalent, or 2+ years PLC/automation experience.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Experience with PLC-controlled automation in process/production environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems as site expert for operations.
• Troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance/operations.
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
• Perform building system assessments to improve material handling performance.
