Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers, providing proactive controls automation and technical support. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and lead cross‑functional teams to optimize MHE systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
• 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in process/production environments.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic and structure programming experience.
• 4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and dive deep to eliminate downtime of critical assets.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, ACES, and Safety to optimize MHE systems.
• Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance and operations.
• Provide escalation support during and after hours to repair hardware or software.
