Job summary

C&W Services is seeking an Automation Engineer to support site maintenance and optimize Material Handling Equipment control systems. You will troubleshoot, program PLC/PC controllers, and coordinate with operations to improve reliability in a climate-controlled facility.

You will work with Rockwell’s software, Allen Bradley PLC platforms, Ethernet and fieldbus networks, and assist other technicians through knowledge transfer while maintaining safety and quality standards across conveyors,

Qualifications

• 3+ years cumulative experience in HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs programming.
• Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs.
• Ability to interpret and modify electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems.
• Experience with equipment control components (relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs).

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Provide guidance on maintaining material handling control systems, industrial motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
• Support troubleshooting and modification of software projects for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix platforms with Rockwell software.
• Act as first level escalation for automation issues and escalate downtime to vendors or network teams.
• Apply expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization.
• Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with mechatronics technicians to resolve electrical problems affecting performance.
• Coordinate with Operations leadership, vendors, and parts suppliers for new technology installations as technical consultant for capital projects.
• Communicate technical issues and timelines with leadership, operations, and maintenance to explain production impact.
