Job summary

C&W Services is seeking an Automation Engineer to support maintenance teams and optimize Material Handling Equipment control systems in a modern facility. The role focuses on PLC/PC controllers, Rockwell Allen-Bradley platforms, HMI development, and networked control systems within a rigorous safety culture.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, lead projects, and collaborate with operations to improve equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in programming/commissioning HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs
• SCADA systems knowledge and KPI exposure
• Ability to read/interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
• Support for conveyors and sortation systems
• Experience with equipment control components (relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs)
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Positive attitude with problem-solving mindset

Responsibilities

• Promote safe working environment by following safety procedures
• Guide maintenance on material handling control systems and power/distribution
• Troubleshoot and modify software projects for control systems (PLC/PC)
• Act as first escalation point for automation issues and escalate appropriately
• Apply expertise to maximize building utilization of systems
• Monitor MHE metrics and work with mechatronics technicians to resolve issues
• Coordinate new technology installations with leadership and vendors
• Communicate timelines and impacts to operations and engineering
