Job summary
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking a Ctrl Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer to join our team servicing a major online retailer. The role focuses on reliability and performance of automated material handling equipment, including conveyors and SCADA systems.
You will troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers, monitor networks, and collaborate with maintenance teams to implement improvements and ensure safety and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
- 2+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.
- 2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
- 2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment and comply with codes and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
- Serve as first level escalation for on-site and remote troubleshooting support.
- Inspect systems to ensure operation meets design specs and client requirements.
- Oversee development scope, scheduling, and inspections of outside contractors.
