Job summary
Cushman & Wakefield in Carteret, NJ seeks an Automation Engineer to support the site maintenance team and ensure efficient operation of material handling control systems such as conveyors, sortation, HMIs, and PLCs. The role involves troubleshooting, software modification, and collaboration with engineers and vendors in a climate-controlled facility.
Ideal candidates have 3+ years in automation/controls, knowledge of Rockwell software, and experience with conveyors.
Qualifications
- 3+ years programming/commissioning HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Experience with conveyors and sortation systems.
Responsibilities
- Promote safe work practices and procedures.
- Maintain material handling control systems and electrical distribution.
- Troubleshoot and modify software for MHE control systems (PLC/PC, Rockwell Rockwell software).
- Escalate downtime issues to vendors or network teams as needed.
- Coordinate with operations and vendors for new technology installations.
