Job summary

Amazon in Canton, MS is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and optimize MHE systems in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement across conveyors, sortation, scanners, and SCADA devices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement innovative projects, and support state-of-the-art technology to ensure fast and accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years automation experience.
Experience in PLC-based controls design, development, and support.
Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
Experience with PLCs from Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys.

Responsibilities

Serve as site expert for maintaining automation systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLCs, networks).
Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance to address performance issues.
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
Perform system assessments to enhance material handling system performance.
