Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Global Workplace Solutions team. You will support advanced automation systems for large facilities and help optimize conveyors, PLCs, and SCADA platforms to improve uptime and safety.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration with operations, and implementing reliability improvements from concept to deployment. A bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years’ experience are preferred, with flexibility for shift work.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant experience, bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in PLC programming, robotics components, and SCADA monitoring.
• Able to work flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by complying with all codes and safety directives.
• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
• Provide first level escalation for on-site and remote troubleshooting of MHE controls.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and client specs.
• Coordinate development scope, scheduling, and inspection with outside contractors.
