Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to support material handling systems, including conveyors and sortation. You will troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers (Allen-Bradley), optimize preventive maintenance, and drive reliability improvements across complex MHE equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
• 2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
• 2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
• 2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends/nights/holidays.
• Meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe operations by complying with codes and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
• Provide on-site and remote first-level escalation support.
• Inspect systems to ensure design compliance and client requirements.
• Oversee development scope and coordination with contractors for upgrades and maintenance.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to network.
• Monitor industrial networks and equipment performance metrics.
• Communicate with leadership and operations on timelines and impacts.
