Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking an Automation Engineer to support advanced automation systems for a major online retailer. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, modern control systems, and ongoing improvement of preventive maintenance strategies.

Ideal candidates have PLC/robotics/SCADA experience, two to five years of relevant work, and flexibility for varied shifts. This exempt, full-time position offers growth opportunities within CBRE's safety‑first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
• 2+ years of PLC programming, robotics system components and SCADA-based monitoring and control systems.
• Ability to be available for flexible schedule/shift including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Meet physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and RSLogix 5000.
• Act as first level escalation in troubleshooting support, on-site and remotely, during and after business hours.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and prescribed conditions.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvement from concept to network implementation.
• Monitor Industrial networks and equipment metrics to resolve performance issues.
• Communicate with stakeholders about timelines, impacts, and project status.
