Job summary

Automation Engineering Apprentice at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Niagara Falls, NY. You will learn to support, maintain, and improve automated systems in a distribution center, through classroom instruction, hands-on lab work, and on-the-job learning.

You’ll train with mentors, complete 12 weeks of technical instruction and 3500 hours of OJT, gaining PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, HMIs, networking, and robotics knowledge in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in automation, controls or mechatronics through coursework or projects.
• Willingness to travel for required training sessions.
• Basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, troubleshooting tools, software navigation).

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply safety standards (LOTO, PPE, arc-flash).
• Shadow and assist automation engineers in troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
• Support daily automation operations by responding to faults and documenting issues.
