Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Automation Engineering Apprentice to learn to support, maintain, and improve automated systems in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will train through classroom and hands-on instruction, paired with mentors, completing 12 weeks of instruction and 3,500 hours on-the-job learning.

You will gain experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, HMIs, and industrial networks while adhering to safety standards and learning to perform

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in automation, controls, or mechatronics through coursework, hands-on experience, or projects.
• Basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, troubleshooting tools).
• Commitment to learning, teamwork and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Learn safety standards and LOTO, PPE, arc-flash awareness.
• Shadow and assist Automation Engineers in troubleshooting and maintenance of control systems.
• Support daily automation operations by responding to faults and documenting issues.
• Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance for material handling equipment and panels.
• Work with schematics and software tools to identify and correct issues.
• Learn to interpret and modify PLC programs under supervision.
• Assist in system performance tracking and data analysis.
• Develop technical communication with engineers and operations teams.
• Complete structured training through Amatrol and JLL modules.
