Job summary

FullSpeed Automotive is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations across service bay, front counter, and back office. You will support the Store Manager, coach technicians and service advisors, and ensure fast, friendly, high-quality service while maintaining a safe, clean shop.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a retail, automotive service, or customer-facing leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that includes time in the service bay.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills; comfortable using point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred ASE certification(s) or willingness to obtain certifications as required by brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead team and supervise daily operations, stepping in to lead in the manager's absence.
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians and service advisors to deliver high-quality service.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure proper coverage during peak hours and busy seasons.
• Onboard and train new team members on service procedures, POS systems, and customer service standards.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment reflecting brand values.
• Greet customers, explain services, and ensure visits reflect speed, quality, and trust.
• Recommend additional services based on guidelines and vehicle needs.
• Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and escalate when needed.
• Support efforts to build repeat business through excellent service and customer care.
• Assist with store operations: opening/closing, cash handling, POS transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders as directed.
• Keep shop and customer areas clean, organized, and presentable; ensure safety compliance.
• Track daily sales, productivity, and KPIs to stay focused on goals.
• Support quality checks and promote a safety-first culture.
