Responsibilities

  • Investigates and adjusts claims and directs independent adjusters, experts, and other vendors.
  • Interacts with field management, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, insurers, and third party claimants.
  • Manages litigation to ensure claims are handled in accordance with jurisdiction.
  • Assists Claim Manager in identifying exposures and recommending solutions.
  • Manages indemnity and expense costs and sets reserves.
  • Interacts with primary and excess carriers and reinsurers as needed.
  • Alerts Claim Manager to changes in laws affecting Ryder's liability program.
  • Updates field personnel on claim status as requested.
  • Supervises outside vendors and experts engaged in investigations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
