Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, directs independent adjusters, experts, and vendors.
• Interacts with field and operations management, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, carriers, and third party claimants.
• Manages litigation to ensure claims are handled appropriately per jurisdiction.
• Assists Claim Manager in identifying exposures and recommending solutions.
• Manages indemnity and expense costs.
• Interacts with primary and excess insurance carriers and reinsurers on files meeting thresholds.
• Alerts Claim Manager to laws changes impacting Ryder's liability program.
• Updates field personnel on claim status when requested.
• Supervises outside vendors and experts used in investigations.
• Recommends and sets reserves to reflect probable ultimate payout.
