Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Liability Claim Representative II to manage property damage and low-to-mid range bodily injury claims. You will investigate, adjust, and direct independent adjusters and vendors, while coordinating with field operations, legal counsel, and insurers to protect company interests.

This role requires at least two years in casualty claims, a preferred Bachelor's degree, and a proactive, customer-focused attitude. Travel ranges from 1 to 10% as part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in casualty claims or related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in casualty claims.
• Licenses are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, directs independent adjusters, experts, and vendors.
• Interacts with field management, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, insurers, and third-party claimants.
• Manages litigation per jurisdiction and exposures.
• Assists Claim Manager in identifying exposures and recommending solutions.
• Manages indemnity and expense costs and reserves.
• Alerts claims team to legal changes impacting Ryder's liability program.
• Updates field personnel on claim status as requested.
• Provides outside vendors and experts to assist in investigation.
• Sets reserves to reflect probable ultimate payout based on file developments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
