Trainees receive comprehensive instruction in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation, with hands-on exposure to auto, heavy equipment, and property damage claims.

The program lasts 9–12 months and leads to independent claims handling responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or insurance preferred.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and learning claims management systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with clear, professional conveyance of information.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service and a positive experience for insureds and claimants.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to multitask.
• Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn negotiation techniques.
• Demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training classes covering policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Assess coverage to determine compensability.
• Investigate by gathering information from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses.
• Partner with resources to obtain evidence and assess potential fraud.
• Establish claim reserves and determine the claim resolution amount; issue payments.
• Develop and execute action plans for effective claim resolution.
• Communicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status, including business customers.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Demonstrate openness to continuous learning, especially in AI and digital transformation.
• Adapt to new workflows, technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts.
